Introduction

Gleemy Labs LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates Solas ("Solas" or the "App"), a live wallpaper for macOS that renders an animated koi pond behind your desktop icons. This Privacy Policy explains what information Solas stores, what information is sent to our services, and how that information is used. Short version: the pond runs entirely on your Mac, we never record your screen, and there is no tracking.

Your Desktop Stays Yours

The pond, fish, plants, and water are simulated and rendered locally on your Mac. Solas does not record, capture, or upload your screen. Click ripples are computed on-device from the pointer position and never leave your Mac.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally

Solas stores the following data locally on your Mac:

• App Settings: Preferences such as weather, water color, clarity, animal counts, plants, frame rate, and performance options
• Trial and License State: Trial start date and your license key, kept in the macOS Keychain

This local data is not transmitted to our servers unless explicitly described below.

Data Transmitted to Our Servers

If you activate or manage a license, Solas sends the following information to our licensing service:

• License Key: To activate Solas and validate your license status
• Device Identifier: A device-specific identifier derived for license activation and device limits
• Device Name: Your Mac's local device name, used to help identify activated devices in license management

If you purchase a license, payment and purchase records are handled by Stripe and our licensing/purchase infrastructure. If you check for updates, Solas contacts the configured update feed.

The current version of Solas does not collect:

• Your screen contents, screenshots, or recordings
• Keystrokes or typed content
• Browsing history
• Camera or microphone recordings
• Advertising identifiers or analytics telemetry

Local System Access

To ripple when you click the desktop, Solas observes mouse clicks and the position of application windows on screen. This is how it decides whether a click reaches the desktop or belongs to another app.

This happens entirely on your Mac. Click positions, window information, and app names are never sent to our servers. Solas does not request Accessibility, Screen Recording, or Input Monitoring permission.

How We Use Your Information

• Core App Functionality: To remember your pond settings and restore them on the next launch
• License Validation: To activate Solas, verify license status, and enforce device limits
• App Updates: To check for and retrieve newer app versions
• Customer Support: To help with license-related questions and support requests you send us

Data Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information. We only share information with third parties when needed to run the product or comply with the law, including:

• Payment Processing: Stripe handles payment transactions. See Stripe's Privacy Policy
• Licensing Infrastructure: Our license API receives license activation and validation data such as your license key, device identifier, and device name
• Update Downloads: Solas may contact the configured update feed to check for and retrieve app updates
• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

Data Retention

• Local App Data: Stored until you change your settings, delete the app data, or remove the app
• Saved License Key: Stored in your Mac Keychain until you remove it or uninstall Solas
• License and Purchase Records: Retained as needed to operate the license system, support your purchase, and comply with legal obligations

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View and manage the settings stored on your Mac
• Delete: Remove local app data by changing settings, forgetting your saved license key, or uninstalling the app
• Manage Activations: Deactivate devices through the license manager
• Contact Us: Ask questions or request deletion of server-side purchase or licensing data where applicable

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All server communications use HTTPS encryption
• Your trial state and license key are stored locally in the macOS Keychain
• The pond simulation and your screen never leave your device

Children's Privacy

Solas is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update this page, notify users in the app, or post a notice on our website.
